Top Songs of All Time
I have been listening to a lot of different music lately, including hip hop and rap and I was thinking what are the top five songs of all time, at least in my opinion. I would say #1 is Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin, #2 Imagine by John Lennon. #3 Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, #4 Under Pressure by David Bowie & Queen, and #5 Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones. I wanted to put a Doors song on the list but thought the Ramones were more deserving because they kind of started the whole punk rock movement.

Pretty good list, I listened to the same kind of stuff when I was your age. Punk was around before the Ramones though, check out the book "Please Kill Me", it is a great oral history of punk told by the people that were there. |

yea MY book "please kill me" was awesome... what of it i read. i'm not much of a ramones fan, and people like to say they started the punk movement' and also that punk grew out of england but its not true. the new york dolls and velvet underground were more the beginning of punk. zeppelin is classic (when i think of led zep i ALWAYS think of your giant poster tim!), but i've had my fill of "stairway to heaven"... im watching forrest gump & freebirds playing right now! and i'm a total beatles fan (im a lennon fan, not so much mccartney) & i have to say imagine is timeless, but "jealous guy" is one of my (& apparently elliott smith's ;) faves... for anyone that cares. i'm a music snob. |
